Relocation Assistance
Ramsay Health Care hospitals offer generous relocation assistance
to qualified and experienced nurses, who relocate to Australia
from an international destination to take up a role at a
Ramsay hospital facility.
The level of assistance provided to international
nurses will vary depending on a range of
circumstances such as years
of experience,
level of need at the facility, and how each nurse is recruited
to Ramsay Health Care. There is significant scope to pay higher
amounts to nurses who join Ramsay Health Care directly
by applying either through this website, or by contacting
Ramsay Health Care and its hospitals directly. Nurses who apply to Ramsay Health
Care through recruitment agencies can only claim the minimum
amount
of relocation assistance, due to the costly recruitment fees
payable to recruitment agencies … come to us first
and we will reward you!
Midwives
Due to the massive worldwide shortage of midwives,
we will pay qualified, experienced midwives
in excess of $3,000 to
relocate
to Australia and take up full-time midwifery positions**
ICU,
CCU & Cardiac Nurses
If you have more than 3 years experience as
a cardiac nurse or have worked in an ICU or
CCU unit and possess the relevant certification
for these units, you too can access relocation assistance in
excess of $3,000 to relocate to Australia and take up full-time
employment
in these areas**.
**You
must apply directly to access this level
of compensation – NOT
available if you are recruited through a recruitment agency.
Guidelines
The purpose of providing relocation assistance
is to assist qualified nurses transferring
from overseas locations during the relocation
and moving process. The eligibility requirements are as follows:
- You must have been offered a role as a
Registered Nurse or Midwife in a Ramsay hospital
- You must be relocating from an overseas
location
- You must have received your nursing registration
from the relevant Australian State
- The Director of Clinical Services must
provide final approval for payment of assistance
- Any relocation assistance paid to you
is conditional on your continued full-time
employment at a
Ramsay hospital for a period
of not less than 2 years.
All Ramsay hospitals offer a nominal amount
of relocation assistance of $700 regardless
of the position or years of experience. More
difficult to fill positions
will attract a more generous relocation assistance and a nurse who possesses
excellent clinical experience in a highly sought after clinical specialty,
can access the maximum amounts of relocation assistance.
How is the relocation assistance provided?
Relocation assistance can only be paid as a
lump sum reimbursement of relocation expenses
incurred when moving to Australia. Accordingly,
please keep receipts
from your airfares, moving costs, medical costs, accommodation costs and any other incidental relocation
costs. It is your choice how you spend the relocation allowance but official tax
receipts of equal value should be presented to obtain the specified relocation allowance. If your relocation
receipts’ value
is less than your relocation allowance amount , we will provide
you with the difference upon receipt of your claim, however the difference will incur tax. You can use receipts for
claiming
following items:
- Documented travel and living expenses
while en route to Australia.
- Airfares and travel expenses for
candidates and dependants
- Pre-placement medical expenses
for candidate and dependants
- Accommodation costs
- Phone or electricity security bonds
- Rental bonds
It is highly recommended that you obtain
transit or travel insurance for your relocation
to Australia. Ramsay Health Care will not
pay for the
loss or damage of any belongings as a result of your relocation.
