INPATIENT PROGRAMS:

• Acute Adult Unit – a dedicated facility designed to accommodate adult patients requiring acute psychiatric intervention.
• Intensive Care Unit - a high dependency unit which provides a short term intensive therapeutic environment to meet patient needs. There is one staff member for every two patients with intensive individual one to one therapy provided.
• Parent-Infant Unit - provides expert assessment and treatment of the psychological and behaviour problems which may be experienced by parents and their babies;
• Adolescent Unit - provides specialist inpatient, outpatient and outreach programs for young people who are experiencing difficulties which prevent them from achieving their potential.
• Psycho-geriatric Unit - a comfortable, secure facility designed to accommodate elderly patients requiring acute psychiatric intervention.
• Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) Suite - provides electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) for the Clinic. Patients are referred to this service by the patient’s treating psychiatrist when ECT is considered appropriate therapy.

OUTPATIENT PROGRAMS INCLUDE:

• Acute Adult program - provides day hospital treatment primarily in the form of skills training sessions, group therapy and individual review sessions.
• Aged Psychiatry - provides ongoing treatment for those not requiring inpatient care. It assists a smoother transition from acute hospital care to home and community based care.
• Adolescent Program.
• Parent Infant Service
• Addictions Program
• Transitional Program
• General Day Program
• Outreach Program - facilitates maximum recovery, via ongoing treatment, support and individual rehabilitation, which is provided in a home environment.  The program operates Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

OTHER SUPPORT SERVICES INCLUDE:

• The Professorial Psychiatry Unit (University of Melbourne Chair of Psychiatry) at Albert Road Clinic developed in 1996. The unit is active in teaching and research for undergraduate, graduate and post graduate trainees and supports a Registrar service. It also adds to clinical services within the hospital, with consultants providing assessment, treatment and second opinion services.
• General Practice Assessment Service - this Albert Road Clinic initiative by the Professorial Psychiatry Unit is to assist general practitioners in their management of patients with psychiatric problems in the community. Patients are assessed by the Senior Registrar at the Clinic. Patients can usually be seen within one week with prompt feedback to the General Practitioner to assist in the patient’s treatment.

Linacre Private Hospital is an acute Surgical and Medical hospital with 72 beds. It is situated in the bayside suburb of Hampton and has served the bayside community since the 1970s.

ABOUT US…
Murray Valley Private Hospital is a comprehensive Oncology and Rehabilitation Hospital located in Wodonga, in North Eastern Victoria. It is well supported by Allied Health Services relating to these two specialties including a Hydrotherapy Pool. MVPH is licensed for 48 beds, with 11 day chemotherapy beds for cytotoxic and related treatments and 4 procedure room beds, utilised presently for minor urological day procedures. The 33 inpatient beds consist of 20 rehabilitation beds, 10 oncology beds and 3 beds for the sleep disorder centre. On-site facilities include specialist medical consulting rooms, pathology service, radiation oncology and clinical psychologist. Acute medical care is also provided, along with minor urological day procedures.
 
MVPH also has on-site accommodation for up to 55 outpatients and their carers. The Support Units eliminate the worry of finding accommodation for patients and carers, who may need to travel some distance for treatment and do not require in-patient care. The Units offer comfortable motel style accommodation, with each room having restful views of the extensive garden setting.

Warringal Private Hospital is a 143 bed acute care Surgical & Medical Hospital located in Heidelberg, some 20 minutes north east of the Melbourne CBD.  The hospital’s reputation as a centre of excellence draws patients from around Australia and internationally. 
 
OUR PRESENT ……..
Warringal Private is located directly opposite the Austin Health campus which incorporates the Austin Hospital , the Mercy Hospital for Women and the planned Olivia Newton-John Cancer Hospital. It  enjoys close synergies with these facilities and the consultants who use them. 

Warringal has dedicated clinical Units in Orthopaedics, Cardiology/Cardio-thoracic Surgery, General Surgery and acute Oncology / Palliative Care.  Specialties include Vascular, Urology, Gynaecology and Bariatric Surgery.  Our Operating Suite comprises of five theatres and includes a Day Surgery / Endoscopy Unit and is supported by a tertiary level ICU with 24 hour RMO coverage.  The hospital operates two Cath Labs incorporating both Cardiology and Vascular procedures.

Planning is well developed for a major expansion of facilities and services which will add a new 10 theatre operating suite and 60 additional private rooms.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are generally looking to enhance our current specialties particularly orthopaedics, cardiology, urology and general, vascular and colo-rectal surgery.

RMOs
We are also keen to recruit an ICU RMO who would be responsible for assisting with the care of patients in the Critical Care Complex, comprising of 6 ICU beds and 4 HDU beds. 

In addition, the ICU RMO is responsible for:

• the care of patients in other areas of the hospital as directed by the responsible VM;
• Responding to Code Blue; and
• Assisting the Medical Emergency Team (MET) as required.

This is a salaried full-time position and would suit several ICU Trainees interested in job-sharing this position

Waverley Private Hospital is the first hospital in Victoria and the second in Australia to have the Conmed Linvatec High Definition Endoscopic Camera System installed.  The camera was launched in San Diego in the United States in February 2007. This camera system is able to be used by different specialities i.e. gynaecology, orthopaedic surgeons, Urologists, ENT and general surgeons and has a full range of data and image capture systems to facilitate information provided to patients and retained in their medical record.
